Collection: NATURAL DISCIPLINE

«Respice post te. Hominem te memento»

“Look behind you. Remember you are a man".

Natural Discipline is the latest Sans Soleil’s collection, it takes inspiration from the Memento Mori movement and, in particular, from the meaning behind the flowers. The zenit of Memento Mori symbolism was during ‘600 painting era and its still life, where a skull is often present, mostly alongside fruits and flowers and, symbolically, a clock, in order to represent the inevitable course of time and tempus fugit abstract idea.

Taking back some shapes and concept already presented in the previous collection, this season jewels become emblem of existential caducity, course of time which passes and solves, of memento mori indeed.

The collection shows three flowers in particular: lavender, anemone and peony, the meaning of which are respectively: sadness, abandonment and loneliness. These themes, typically negative and sorrowful, gain the opposite meaning with the representation of withheld flowers.

Pieces are handmade from local artisans on the territory, in gun metal-pleated silver and rhinestones. Together with earrings, this season, we present a brooch, a joint tong and a earring-necklace.

Packing is always totally compostable and you will find a card inside, produced from grape harvest scraps, where our name and social contacts are printed in braille as well.

Collection’s theme are not changed: we move strongly believing in create an inclusive community, a kind of ‘chosen family’ where nobody is left out.
